My name is Dee Wilson and I’m the River Rest Weddings’ professional event planner/wedding planner/wedding coordinator — all wrapped up as one.
I started working for River Rest Weddings in the Spring of 2017 and I’m so proud of the incredible growth and tremendous success we’ve had in such a short time!
The photo on this page is of me and my beautiful daughter, Summer, during her wedding at River Rest Weddings.
As the mother, I hired myself to attend to every personal touch of Summer’s special day, and judging by her smile, I helped make her wedding magical and meaningful in a way that reflected her inner vision and style.
Now a little bit more about me —
I was born and raised here in Alabama, so I definitely understand southern grace and hospitality.
Anybody that meets me is likely to say that I’ve an extremely charming personality.
I also love meeting new people and making new friends!
The three things I can’t live without are — my wonderful husband (who's been my very best friend since high school and has always been my sounding board for every crazy idea and tough decision that I’ve had to make), all animals, soft and cuddly (especially my loyal dachshunds, Charlie and Roxie), and my sweet grandson, Kaleb.
During my free-time, I’ve a wide-range of interests that keep me happy and fulfilled, such as being with my husband and grandson, watching reality TV (my not so guilty pleasure), spending time outdoors (especially near the water), cheering on Kaleb as he plays sports, trying new restaurants, and checking off the many items on my Bucket List!
My favorite flowers are pretty peonies, bright-eyed and bold buttercups (ranunculus), and sweet Juliet roses.
My favorite color is pink (and yes, I'm very much a girly girl).
Another fun fact about me is that I’m a coffee snob.
Give me coffee in the morning, afternoon, and night! (I even love coffee-flavored ice cream!)
My favorite wedding tradition is the Yichud ritual, which comes from the Jewish culture.
The Yichud is 10 to 20 minutes of alone time for the newlyweds right after their wedding ceremony. (I think everyone should have this private time to relish in the moment!)
Being a hopeless romantic, I’ve a deep (deep) love for everything that is in the world of weddings and special events.
From the elegant design details that go into the perfect wedding to hearing two people express their devotion to each other from this day forward and for all eternity, I believe in the power of love and celebration!
As an event planner, I’m a pretty fun person to talk to, although I take my career very seriously.
You can expect that I will be precise in my project management and that I’ll ensure that I make your day soar.
As a wedding planner, I bring unique insight and personal attention to each wedding that I work on.
I firmly believe that detailed planning and flawless execution will bring your love story to life on the day of your wedding.
You can look to me for crisis aversion and to help create a stress-less day for both of you and your guests.
One of my favorite parts of your wedding day will be when both of you get to see your wedding setup for the first time.
It will be a combination of your fairy tale wedding and our hard work coming to life.
By the end of the wedding, I’ll be your soul-friend and your flower girl’s best friend!
My best advice to couples planning a wedding is to hire a planner!
